Learn to bake with Pastry Chef and Owner of Honey Bee Bakery; Shannon Adams

Shannon worked as a server at the City Grocery while attending Ole Miss.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, she opened up the Honey Bee Bakery with her family in 2008.

The Honey Bee Bakery has recently been featured in Bon Appetit magazine.

There is a Courtesy 10% Discount for repeat students and groups of two or more.

Teenagers may take classes with parental permission.

Skills covered include 1. Making sugar cookie dough
                                    2. Rolling out cookie dough
                                    3. Shaping and baking cookies
                                    4. Making Royal Icing
                                    5. Decorating cookies

The fee includes all ingredients and tools needed to make the cookies, printed recipes, and the fruit of your labors.

Sourdough  Bread: Advanced Bread Making I (Sponges and Starters)

Do you have some experience with breads, but wish to learn more? Refine your techniques in Advanced Bread making. Learn to make Authentic Sourdough bread (with complex flavors with the use of sponges and starters)  
Skills covered include

  1. Creating sponges, and developing starters
  2. Making bread dough,
  3. Kneading and shaping loaves
  4. Decorating and baking loaves

The fee includes all ingredients and tools needed to make the breads, printed recipes, and the fruit of your labors.
Enrollment is limited to 10 people and will be taken on a first come first serve basis.

ABOUT REGISTRATION

The University of Mississippi is open year-round (excluding University-observed holidays). Several options for registration are available: online, fax, phone, mail-in and walk-in. Our regular hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Registration begins now and continues until the deadline listed with each specific class. Some programs have limited enrollment and are filled on a first-come basis. You must register by the deadline, and, by enrolling early, you ensure your place in the class of your choice.
